Aug 13,  · And because it is sound pressure (air molecules), it is a total of all the sounds being picked up, it is not a collection of individual sounds. This combined signal can then be fed to a disc recording lathe, where the signal waveform is transfered to the record. There is one wiggly line (for each channel), one each side of the groove for stereo.

Jun 10,  · In , RCA released a record I wish I still had. It was a baseball board game announced by Mel Allen. Each side had 7 tracks and each track had 4 interlaced grooves, whichever groove the needle found it's way into, determined how the play ended. The label said "This is a secret spiral record". It must have been a nightmare cutting a disk like.

54 reviews of Grooves Inspiralled Vinyl "Love this record store! The decor on the outside is fun. It's on the smaller side compared to Amoeba but there's still a huge selection of music. Pretty busy location considering it's off Market street 51 Yelp reviews.

Jan 13,  · Am I right when I say the cuts in the 90 degree sides of the groove are then 1 degree of vertical (as you look at a groove from the side)? Correct, subject to a few refinements: different record producers used slightly different angles over the years - variations from one cutting lathe to the next - variations from one cutting stylus to the next.

Apr 17,  · Handle your vinyl correctly — Handle your discs around the edges, minimizing contact with the grooves. Use dust sleeves — Use plastic dust sleeves to protect your record sleeves from excessive wear and dust.

Mar 01,  · Looking down at the record, which side of the groove is the "left" side?In other words, is it the side of the groove closest to the spindle that carries the left channel of the recording, or is it the side of the groove closest to the record's edge? You'd think this would be easy to look up, but I've been using Google for a few hours and come up with nothing.

A tight little debut from Emily King – a blue-eyed soul singer from New York, and a bright new talent who's destined for big things! Although younger than some of her contemporaries, Emily's got a voice that's bold and strong – a contemporary soul approach that's never too cliched or commercial, and which has a nice sense of poise. Emily plays acoustic guitar alongside her vocals.
