Soma Letra: Soma is what they would take when hard times opened their eyes, Saw pain in a new way, high stakes for a few names, Racing against sun beams, losing against their dreams, In your eyes. And I am stop and go, In your eyes, See I am stop and.

Jun 03,  · The September 11 terrorist attacks in New York City postponed the group's CMJ Music Marathon performance, and the album release was rescheduled for October 9. The US CD version of the album replaced "New York City Cops" with a newly recorded song, "When It Started", while the vinyl edition retained the original track list/5(4K).

“New York City Cops” is an early Strokes song dating back to their debut album, Is this It. However, due to the subject matter, and the proximity of the record release to the 9/11 terrorist attack, the band replaced the track with “When it Started” on the CD version. (The vinyl release kept the original track list.).

Side Two is definitely where the album begins to take off. "Last Nite" is indisputably the group's greatest song. Sure, it's a rip off of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "American Girl," but it is vastly superior. "Hard to Explain" and "New York City Cops" also pack a certain punchiness missing from most of the first five tracks on the album.
